Policy Recommendations Workshops
Towards resilient heritage sector with a purpose
Program
Welcome to the first of the four workshops organised by the inDICEs project.
Our aim is to collectively define policy recommendations that will allow Cultural Heritage institutions to flourish and fulfill their public mission, through appropriately designed digital transformation. In our view this goal can be only achieved with CHIs supporting access and the reusability of digital cultural heritage. That is why our particular interest is in policies related to the reuse of cultural assets and value chains that this reuse enables for various communities.
This session will be built around the theme of Types of Reuse, focusing on current challenges related to reuse of digital cultural heritage content in education, research, by the creative sector and the so called general public.
Registration terms
Please note that the workshops have limited access. The workshops are open to all inDICEs project partners and external experts (by invitation only).
The registration to the Policy Recommendations Workshops: Types of Reuse is open until December 9. Registered participants will receive more information about these activities shortly before the event.

This session will be built around the theme of Digitisation for Access, focusing on such approach to digitization that favors quality versus quantity, including technical quality, legal quality, as well as social and economic quality - access that allows reuse to foster creativity, innovation and social benefits.

This session will be built around the theme of Ethics for reuse. We believe we have to consider the ethics of open sharing and the reuse of data, with the possible negative implications, stemming either from direct harm created through the sharing and resume or maximised by it. We want to discuss to what extent new technologies, especially AI, can be used in the GLAM sector to generate benefits in the public interest that are developed in an ethical way.

This session will be built around the theme of Digital Public Space, and ways in which it applies to the cultural heritage section. We want to discuss how, as the sector undergoes digital transformation, it can contribute to building the internet as a public space. We are interested in issues such as public digital infrastructures, the common cultural data space (recently announced by the European Commission), or new public platfroms for heritage, culture and media.
